Routine charts remove the need to keep steps in their brain. Some children gets so overwhelmed that they just give up. When a child with ADHD tries to keep too many things in their memory at once, they will forget the tasks. You know how when you have a bunch of tabs open in your browser, you get distracted or your device slows down. Routine charts for children help children with ADHD by: Executive functioning is the part of the brain that makes decisions and executes those decisions. For your child, this could be watching a show, getting down the Legos to play, snuggling on the couch with you, or high-fives and hugs.Ĭhildren with ADHD struggle with executive functioning even more than typical children. So a fun, rewarding activity that we already would allow her to do is built into the routine. So we’ve set the expectation that she does the first three steps in the morning routine (make the bed, eat breakfast, and get dressed) then she can play for 5 minutes. So I suggest you have built-in motivation for completing the routine.Ĭurrently, my daughter likes playing Mario Run on my husband’s phone. I am totally in support of giving rewards but for many parents that slides into bribing (yes there is a difference!). I don’t know many children who are intrinsically motivated to brush their teeth or make their bed. Teachers use it often to provide step-by-step support in order to get students to be independent. Once they are successful with one part, add a second task like: In short, you want them to develop a habit where they can do that task. Praise your child as they do it independently with no prompt. If you want to do a morning routine for your child, start with just one step. My best hack is to start with the simplest routine possible so your child can be independent and experience success. So you need to teach them how to use it independently. If you’re nagging your child to do each step, it defeats the point of the routine chart. This means if making bed is the first thing on the morning routine, you either need to have very low expectations for what a made bed looks like – or you need to teach each step. So you still need to teach your child how to do each step. But your child needs to know how to do each individual task. You still need to help your child learn how to use a routine chart by doing these three things: The biggest mistake parents make is giving the child the chart and expecting it to immediately work. She has long brown hair and eyes, and some pink face-paint that kind of looks like whiskers.ĭ.Va is a very competent combatant despite her young age, not taking failure as an option and showing no mercy to her adversaries. Her fame led to her starring in the Goldshire Pictures movie Hero Of My Storm, as well as an advertisement for Nano Cola.ĭ.Va is a young slender woman wearing headgear that looks like headphones, a blue and white jumpsuit covered in logos, and white gloves and shoes. This lead to the idea of self-destructing her crippled mech above the waters of the South China Sea.ĭ.Va began to stream her combat operations online, and she gained fans around the world. While she was able to take out the first 4 easily enough, her mech sustained too much damage to beat the last one and she was forced to improvise. While there, an omnic attack was detected and D.Va had to fight them off 5 on 1 because reinforcements were unable to arrive quickly enough. While her squadmates were taking time off to recuperate, D.Va instead went to the garage to repair and try to improve MEKA. In at least one of those conflicts, D.Va's team nearly lost the fight with D.Va herself having to finish the fight solo after her squadmates were disabled and injured. At the age of 19, Hana was drafted into MEKA's army of mech pilots with the task of defending the coast around the East China Sea from a colossal adapting omnic, from the group/clan of onmics known as the Kuishin. At the age of 16, she became the top StarCraft player in the world and went undefeated for the next three years of her life. Hana Song (Song Hana, 송하나), under the username "D.Va", represented South Korea in multiple international StarCraft tournaments. Recently, she has begun to stream combat operations to her adoring fans, and her growing following has turned her into a global icon. Seeing her new mission as a game, D.Va fearlessly charges into battle alongside the rest of her MEKA unit, ready to spring to her nation's defense at a moment's notice. Top stars were drafted, including reigning world champion Hana Song, also known as "D.Va." Famous for her elite skills, D.Va was a fierce competitor who played to win at all costs, and she had a well-earned reputation for showing no mercy to her opponents. Scrambling to find suitable candidates, the government turned to the country's professional gamers, who possessed the necessary reflexes and instincts to operate the mechs' advanced weapons systems. Each incident ended in a stalemate, with the monstrosity defeated but not destroyed.Īs the omnic continued to adapt, it eventually disrupted MEKA's drone-control networks, forcing the military to place pilots in the mechs. The omnic learned from these encounters, often reconfiguring itself in a different form and appearing with new weapons and capabilities. Every few years, the monstrosity would rise from the sea to assault South Korea and its neighbors. The government's fears proved to be well-founded, as a disturbing pattern of attacks emerged. In response, the South Korean government developed a mechanized armored drone unit, called MEKA, to protect urban environments in future engagements with the omnic threat. The massive, lumbering construct caused catastrophic damage to coastal cities before it was driven back beneath the waves. Twenty years ago, South Korea was attacked by a colossal omnic monstrosity that rose from the depths of the East China Sea. D.Va is a former professional gamer who now uses her skills to pilot a state-of-the-art mech in defense of her homeland. He's a lot more tech savvy (younger) and may understand the do's and don'ts better than I do.At first I’ll stay with the weather features, as Garmin’s own descriptions of BlueChart Mobile (BCM) seem overly modest about what they’ve packed into this app. I'm not sure if this helps your issue but maybe Skeeter will comment on the "When to use what" part. Since it's new data, there won't be any duplicated data and I think it's faster? I have done this and it worked well. If I create new waypoints, tracks or routes on Homeport, and I want to load them on the plotter, then I think I should use "Merge from Card" to transfer just that data file. But I'm not sure yet if my existing waypoints, tracks, and routes will be effected. That way the old map is replaced or overwritten. For instance, I think if I copy updated maps from Garmin Express, and I want to load them on my plotter, I should use "Replace from Card". Like I said, I'm still a little fuzzy on when to use what. "Replace from Card" is designed to overwrite or replace existing data. I'm still a little fuzzy on when to use which function, but I do know that one (Merge from Card) will allow duplication of data, while the other (Replace from Card) will not. "Merge from Card" and "Replace from Card". I think the answer to your problem may be in how you transfer the data from the card to the plotter. I don't know if your cards are compatible with Homeport, I believe you said they are Navionics cards, but it may be worth a try. With a little help from the internet I was finally able to get it saved and merged onto my chartplotter. It's not very intuitive, or maybe I'm just dumb, but I did struggle with trying to save the track I created to the card. I was able to create waypoints, tracks and routes. There was also a button for tidal information, but I didn't play with that. When I clicked on the file, HP picked it up and I could see nav buoys, channel markers, shoals, water depths and so forth. When HP booted up I could see the US Coastal Maps file in the menu. Then I plugged that copy into my computer and started Homeport. But this time I made a memory card copy of the US Coastal chart that was loaded on my chartplotter. In fact, the bayou wasn't even visible on the HP base map. I had attempted this once on Garmin Homeport but wasn't getting the map detail I needed. So I thought it would be nice to create a track on my computer and export it to my chartplotter so I could watch that track, rather than zooming in and out to "look ahead" while we're on the water. Those, along with the natural tributaries can make it hard to know if you are staying in the main bayou at times. The bayou runs through a marsh and years ago the oil companies cut hundreds of canals off the main bayou. I don't know if you ever resolved this issue but I remembered this thread and thought I would share a learning I had.Ī buddy and I are planning a trip to scout a 21 mile long bayou in southwest Louisiana. If you haven't ever messed with it, the settings in GE are under Tools/Options/3D view. I'm not a guru on the subject, but it could be that if you have your GPS set to one format and GE set to a different format, it may cause a conflict. One format reads in deg/min/sec and another reads in deg/decimal minutes, for instance. I know on Google Earth you can pick/change the format of your coordinates. But GE at least has the landmass features in fine enough detail for waypoint creation. The nautical data, like depth references, or landmass features, like points of land, are just not there or are not detailed enough for that. The default HomePort maps are not detailed enough, in my opinion, to create accurate waypoints. Now, about all I've done with it is copied Texas Parks and Wildlife Department fish structure coordinates (GPX files) from their website, dropped them into HomePort, renamed them in HomePort and then transferred them to my GPS. gpx files onto my GPS using a memory card without a hitch. Don't know if it will be any help with the nautical data, but I have dropped. But HomePort was a free download last time I looked. I do see where there is an "Import" function in one of the drop down menus that may allow you to import the nautical features from Navionics, don't know. So my map on HomePort doesn't have any nautical data. I use Garmin HomePort for transferring waypoints, but I haven't paired it with Navionics Gold.
